Internet Marketing 30 Day Challenge – The Truth

Internet Marketing 30 Day Challenge – The Truth

So many times I’ve heard about the 30 Day Challenge but never really looked into it. I will admit I was probably stubborn, the goal is to make “your first dollar online” which I have is one I have passed quite a while ago. Equally I always hear good things about the training for Ed Dale and the guys.

This time I decided to swallow my pride and join, see if there was anything I could get out of it.

Quite Frankly: I’m Shocked

This may be aimed at people new to Internet Marketing but there are tools that even the more experienced marketer could get great use out of. They are litrally taking people from the absolute beginning and setting them up with some killer things to work with. From what Ive seen so far it’s quite litrally the best Intensive course to get someone up and running.

It’s not just for beginners! Of course they discuss things that you may know already but I think most people will get a least a few things out of listening to what these guys have to say. For instance the first day after signing up I actually decided to change my browser almost instantly! I know use Flock, this is a browser that I can hook up to do so many routine tasks with just the click of a button.

I kid you not, that browser beats even my old set up with Firefox 3 and several extensions. In fact as Flock is based on Firefox most of your old extensions can be automatically imported across. One of the main problems many people face in business is time management. The Truth is installing this browser with the tips given in the 30DC could save you up to an hour or more a day and I REALLY mean that. It takes the down time out of getting your content to the masses and ultimately making mo’ money (caught that phrase from Frank Kern and it’s stuck!).

So back to the topic at hand, the 30 Day Challenge; no matter how good you are… you should check it out. At the price of FREE you really can’t lose anything and could gain more than you think. I know I have already! You can check out the challenge here and just so you know, I am not getting anything for reffering you here. I just really believe it can help a lot of people.

How to Start a Blog and Make Money Online

So probably the first major decision you will have to make besides content is what software you will use to create you blog. There are many different options available to you all with their own pros and cons. First you will have to decide whether you want to use a hosted solution such as Google’s blogger or like most professional bloggers host your own using software such as the self hosted version of WordPress.

Why should I host my own?

The main benefit of hosting your own is you have complete control over your blog from the base up. You are free to use virtually any layout, advertisements or content. You are also in control of many variables that can make your blog appear higher in search results with the right set up. This is called SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) and is a term you will hear a lot about in the Internet marketing world. It is so important because most of your readers will be coming in through a search engine one way or another. If you are looking for a reliable and affordable host you may try HostGator Hosting. This is the company I trust with most of my websites and you can even resell their hosting for profit.

Can I still create a successful blog without knowledge of SEO?

The answer is yes although it certainly helps! You may not have the knowledge but there are many people out there who specialize in this field. One option is to hire someone to design your blog for you to a good standard in both terms of SEO and design, though this may not always be an option. Another option is to use tools created by experts which will automate the process for you.

What is a theme?

Generally speaking a theme creates the look and feel of a WordPress blog and many are available free of charge. But 90% of themes do not consider SEO as a priority. In fact many themes may actually hinder your site rather than help it. Sure it may look pretty but does that matter if nobody even gets to see it. When you choose a theme you will need to make sure that it is professionally crafted for both aesthetics and performance. One of my favourite on the market right now is the Thesis theme however if you are new to creating site then you may want to consider something like the headway theme which allows you to design your site by dragging and dropping the various elements around.

You keep mentioning WordPress, what is it?

WordPress is the most professional and easy to use blogging software that I’ve found. It is the blog at the base of everything that allows you to get your content on the the net. Once you have this set up and throw in high performing theme framework you have a killer combination that you can use to build a solid online base for your business that can bring in money month after month.
