Top 3 Tools of the Sixty Day Challenge (Part 2) #60dc

Posted by & filed under Internet Marketing.

If you have been following my challenge via my challenge website then you will be aware that I’ve had a mini-disaster. On Friday my main and only personal computer got some real issues. I’m no computer expert but the geek in me says that my CPU has died which in a laptop is VERY bad.

This has radically altered my top picks for this week as I have been using a couple alternate tools for things. This however could prove interesting for those who don’t want to spend a lot on expensive software as two out of the three top picks this week are completely free and relatively powerful programs. So without further ado:

The Top Three Tools of the Sixty Day Challenge (Part 2)

  1. Roboform/Roboform2Go – I actually discovered this before the computer died and “Wow” is it a godsend. It really couldn’t have arrived at a better time as well. What this tool does it store all of your log ins, details under one very secure password. No more trying to remember 1 Gazillion different passwords if you’re like me. If you’ve only been using one password across your accounts for fear of remembering then again this tool will pay for itself many times over in security by generating unique secure passwords and storing them all under one roof. Another HUGE benefit is that you can fill out all your details and then fill out registration and order forms with a single click of the button.I also ordered Roboform2Go which is the USB drive version and this turned out to be more valuable than I would have thought when my computer died. All I had to do was plug it into a borrowed PC and I had all my account details and passwords stored!
  2. Kompozer – This is the first of my completely free picks this week and is my replacement web page editor. It has an amazing WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get)considering it is a free tool and allows to create websites litrally through drag and drop. The only thing I haven’t quite got used to with this though is when you want to edit code yourself. I find the (also free) ‘Notepadd ++’ an excellent companion to this solution as the code is all laid out properly and colour coded.  The program has installed successfully on my USB drive so that I can use this wherever I am!
  3. Pixlr – An online image editor that absolutely rocks! This has also been a lifesaver whilst working on working with graphics for websites. Completely free to use, hosted online and therefore accessible anywhere there is an Internet connection! Pixlr contains an superb amount of editing power for an image editor of it’s type. Everything is laid out in the same fashion as most popular desktop applications so if you can use those you will be at home with this.

So that’s my top three tools of the second and eventful week in the Sixty Day Challenge.
